June Family Prayer Intention

Juneteenth, officially Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. The holiday refers to June 19, 1865, the day when the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation, which ended the American Civil War, was ordered in Texas.

Prayer for an end to racism suggested by the USCCB:

God, you created the one human family and endowed each person with great dignity. Aid us in overcoming the sin of racism. Grant us your grace in eliminating this blight from our hearts, our communities, our social and civil institutions. Fill our hearts with love for you and our neighbor so that we may work with you in healing our land from racial injustice.

Canticle of Creatures

Picture Contest - June 2025

Let us pray for a moment.
Let us be grateful for our Lord's creation.
We bring the same words that Saint Francis used 800 years ago:

“Most High, all-powerful, good Lord,
Yours are the praises, the glory,
and the honor and all blessing.
To You alone, Most High, do they belong
and no human is worthy to mention Your name.”

Now... we will pray and meditate on this month's verse for the same Saint Francis' song:
